Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is THE busiest day for plumbers across the country, including our Lompoc plumbers at Griffin! Here are our three top tips to avoid plumbing trouble on Turkey Day.
1. DON’T BE A HERO
Holiday season is here! Thanksgiving celebrations often mean a houseful of company. With all the extra loved ones using the facilities, pesky plumbing problems are likely to occur in Lompoc. If you’ve never repaired a sink or toilet, Thanksgiving is not the best time to try. Trust us. You might inadvertently make the issue worse in attempting the repair. Make life easier for you and yours by calling Griffin Plumbing instead! We’ll solve the issue straightaway so you can focus on what matters most – your friends and family.
2. BEFORE YOU MASH THOSE POTATOES…PREP WISELY
As you prepare your Thanksgiving feast, be mindful of what makes its way down the garbage disposal. Contrary to popular belief, garbage disposals aren’t a trashcan – there are items that don’t belong there. That means, when you’re busy peeling potatoes – don’t do it over the sink! Potato peels are harmful to your garbage disposal. Prepping stuffing? If your recipe calls for celery, make sure none of that fibrous vegetable winds up down the disposal either. Additional foods to avoid include eggshells, lettuce, and carrots. While prepping, remember to use a strainer when you can so no undesirable items make it down the drain. When all your prep is done, do your disposal a favor and put a lemon down there to freshen and clean.
